I actually think we probably fall within the same sphere on the Venn diagram, and I take your assessment of Rogan to heart. I may even go back to give it another chance. I honestly don’t think he’s as bad as I’ve maybe painted him, so, in the scope of “words mattering”...maybe I spoke a bit too hyperbolically.

I refer you to my response regarding the ludicrous allegation that there was a NewsRadio season where Jon Lovitz replaced Phil Hartman. As if!

Yowzer...

Nor, apparently, was trading for Jrue Holliday...the same Jrue Holliday who is a centerpiece of “YOU HAD A FINE TEAM WHY TRUST THE PROCESS” criticisms.

This same site is hyping up Jrue Holliday’s performance last night, so, yeah, catastrophically bad tenure Demps had there.

Slow news day?

Also, as an aside, went to the JRE Reddit to confirm that, yes, a lot of the people there still harbor some of the distateful beliefs/attitudes I spoke of, that he engenders among a subset of his following.

Agree a lot, but underlying a lot of the creation of power/organizational dynamics is interpersonal behavior, speech/language usage, and other things—tend to be lumped in as “microaggressions,” but I hate that term.

That’s fair, but most of what I’ve gotten from him—and a majority is standup—is that he is still anchored in a lot of his biases. To your point, maybe he’s trying to get past them. That’s cool, nice that he’s making the effort, but I don’t personally have the time to watch his butterfly emerge out of the right-wing

There are several episodes on YouTube! I searched for the clip from Jimmy James reading from the Japanese translation of his book, and autoplayed into the episode where Jon Stewart guest stars as Andy Dick’s “twin” brother. So all in all, it’s a good day.

Glorious sunset of my heart was fading. Soon, the super karate monkey death car would park in my space. But Jimmy has fancy plans, and pants to match!”

One day, I arrived at work to notice the office smelled like cat piss. Funny, it went away when I left my cubicle, but when I got back to my desk, it was back. Then I was in a meeting in a different building, and I noticed the room smelled like cat piss. What the hell could this be?

Not sure why you care enough to comment about an offhand personal ranking of a 90s sitcom, but you decide how to live your best life.

Yeah, that tends to be how I feel about most of these things. Of course, in many cases, it means residuals are still going to awful people when I rewatch on streaming/television, but I’ve kind of made peace with that at this point.

Yeah, this is about the sum of why I dislike him. I’m not so much into the idea of “deplatforming,” but I do think that if you give these guys a platform, then you deserve to be scrutinized/criticized for that. Let them find their own funding, and let them die in the darkness of their shriveled audiences.

I’ve seen that said, and seen evidence of it, so I’m not going to dispute it since I haven’t delved into his archives. I was a fan once, and listened to some the shows, and I don’t really hate him; I just don’t care for a significant portion of his beliefs, so I just go elsewhere for entertainment. There are people

(droooooool)

Dont discount Dave Foley, Maura Tierney, and Vicky Lewis!

The worst part, though, is that he has some clear anchors that lead him to give credence to Jordan Peterson and 9/11 trutherism. And chumminess with Alex Jones is a pretty far bridge to cross. But that might just be a consequence of his particular style. He dances in that Venn diagram of skepticism and fantastical
