A quick KBB trade in value search changing only mileage from the average 111,000 to 999,999 (wouldn’t accept 1M) dropped $3,999 from the trade in value. Started at $13,059 went to $9,060 assuming his assessment of “very good condition” is accurate.

I second or third-handly work in the cement industry. I’m sorry, but I can’t take “clinker” seriously.

Agreed, HTC hasn’t done that bad of a job. The worst seems to be many early deliveries were sent out of order in a regional USA shipping pattern but that seems to have been fixed after the first week. I got my order confirmation 6 minutes after opening and received my Vive April 15th, I can’t really complain. I sold

Those exact ones in the pic, MPow Swift 80's green. They'll last 6 hours at least, at $22 I can't complain about the sound. If I'm doing something vigorous I put the cord on top of my head and never have to readjust. Wearing them right now actually.

Ohhhhhhh! Oprah’s gonna be in trouble!

Correct, I guess I could have been a little more clear, it fakes the framerate like a TV fakes 120 or 240 hz from a 60 hz signal and it keeps the processing load down on the PS4 since it only has to put out 60 hz/fps. I’m curious how well this works because my TV at 120 hz has artifacts/blockiness around certain

Doesn’t matter who won, if you’re interested in VR pick one, you won’t be disappointed. I’m waiting for my Vive to show up because roomscale, controls and not Facebook.

Things may have changed but at CES this is how I understood it. A single cable from the headset to the break-out box. The box needs its own power and will take the 60 hz feed and up-convert it to 120 hz for the headset. This cuts down on the processing power needed since the PS4 is aging.

At least we now have a statistic based on evidence. 1 out of 700 Billion humans have been estimated to have ever lived has been know to be killed by a meteorite.

Same here. It happens every time I swallow too, just not as strongly. One or both sides will stop working when I have head congestion. I also seem to be sensitive to sudden pressure changes like when a car window is opened while driving fast, it almost hurts.

He can’t believe in a flat Earth AND global warming, it would just be warming.

Yes, apparently

Please recalculate, John Steinbeck died in 1968. $1M then is about $7M now. $1M is easily attainable by the shrinking middle class in a retirement fund alone. Regardless of exact value the premise holds.

That’s true for HTC Vive, yes, and they’re really playing up the fact that they can do room scale and “think of the possibilities” that it entails. They are releasing with the headset, 5 meter cable, 2 motion controllers and 2 lighthouse stations for tracking. The lighthouses are supposed to be set up on opposite ends

The Vive will supposedly still be every bit as good as the Rift at a seated experience. The only issues will be the exclusive games which may not remain exclusive for long.

Very true about reselling. I agree somewhat about room scale, I’m very interested but I doubt it’ll be used for much more than demos and a few niche games at least at first. I’m really disappointed about the touch controllers being delayed, I think motion tracked controllers are the single most important feature after

I think the short answer is “somewhat compatible”. From what I’ve been following on VR reddits on Oculus vs. Vive: development is primarily for one platform and then can relatively easily be ported to the other, this will depend on the specific developer’s motivation and contract if any. I think the biggest barrier
