One of my favorite movies this year was “The Handmaiden.” It’s a Korean film, starring Korean actors (duh), and it’s loosely based on a Victorian England-based novel called “Fingersmith.”

I’m all for yet another remake of Joan d’Arc, this time with all-Black cast, spoken in Jamaican patois.

I have never wanted to see a film less than I want to see La La Land.

I’m not surprised. It has pieces of walnut shells. It was the only scrub I could find in Amman, and, so every time I use it, now, I get a hit of sandstorm and tea with anise.

This is so good. And mirrors so much of what I feel. Hopeless and angry and just so fucking full of rage at the class of men that I don’t know what to do with myself.

The contrast between making women’s contractitive and reproductive health access basically illegal while men’s ED pills (Viagra and Cialis) go OTC is going be just so… Ironic? Tragic? What’s the word I’m looking for…

They don’t actually care about preventing abortions, the goal is to control women.

Well.... President Obama is a Constitutional Law scholar, and a successful politician, and generally a pretty cerebral guy.

These were slaves who were revolting, yes? Captured and shipped over from Africa, and bought and sold like livestock. Little dark-skinned kids forced to watch their parents being murdered and raped, and then shipped off to work on plantations, and also raped by their white owners. But, hey, #notallwhites

Like the occupying whites had such high regard for the black children they OWNED and treated as if they were livestock. Slavery is an act of violence. The French whites got what they had coming in Haiti.

Well, if we’re counting and all, I think history tells us that the whites have dominated the raping and murder of other races, ethnicities, and cultures of people. Nothing makes it right on any “side.” Since we’re thinking in sides. 

If the Haitian French hadn’t murdered countless Afro-Haitian children, expecting no consequences, you might have a point. If they hadn’t started shit, there wouldn’t have been shit.

I can’t imagine why the right hates us so much.
