I liked the idea of time passing by in DA2. Sadly there was not much change in characters or environments. An RPG with the main character starting as a teenager and finishing as an elder would be epic.

The Witcher 3 is similar to your idea, but full of idiotic peasants.

Or The Witcher 3, where even the lesser secondary quests feel like important parts of the story!

Are they the same guys that worked on Dragon Age 2? How the heck do they put a C team on such a massive franchise?

If developers bothered to make good endings more players would bother to finish games.

I think there's room for both and I'm glad that some of the American stuff like Guardians of the Galaxy and Deadpool dares to be simply fun instead of brooding realism.
