Sometimes I feel that T2 was the last movie that really pushed CGI forward. Avatar was nowhere near as impressive.

I remember there was a time when I was amazed at anything CGI, for example in Young Sherlock, in The Abyss or in Terminator 2.

I hope they film Star Wars Episode IX space scenes in space as rumoured, instead of using silly CGI!

I think the mix between CGI and practical is the way to go, at least until CGI gets good enough.
