I have the first gen 3DS and I skipped out on the XL because it's too big (I'm 5'7'' and it looks dumb in my pockets) but at the same time the jump from DS/Lite to DSi wasn't that big control wise. Because this isn't a new generation of handheld. Releasing an updated 3DS with more buttons, memory, and better CPU means that people will make games that only run on the new one and alienates everyone who bought the 3DS. There were no exclusive DSi only games, besides the DSiWare. There were DSi ENHANCED games but those ran on normal DS's too.
