One of the gals I follow on instagram finally got the confidence to bring her service dog into Target, she was nervous about it for this very same reason. Of course, some lady walked up to them and pulled on the dog’s tail, then had the nerve to say “see! your dog is distracted! real service dogs don’t get distracted!”

I’m a former middle school teacher. I saw one of my students crying in the hall and wearing a cast. When I asked what was wrong, she said someone pushed her down the stairs and broke her arm, but the administration wasn’t going to do anything to the perpetrator. I was horrified, but not surprised.

The school (responded) that keeping the alleged assailant and the girl in the same class and on field trips was not a problem because she wasn’t sexually assaulted again.

Can’t we replace all the politicians with artists, scientists, inventors, athletes, activists and almost any other profession?

NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE

I’ve said this for ages, but American currency should go something like this:

This has nothing to do with who people should and should not vote for. I said nothing about feminism, intersectionality, or reason to vote for Hillary. I merely pointed out that saying that a Hillary Clinton campaigner being portrayed as excited to meet Hillary Clinton has nothing to do with how we think “women are

A theater near us does “Cry Day” screenings of first run movies so that parents of very young parents can go to the movies with their infants and not feel bad about it. The screenings are usually midday on a weekday, so catering to folks on parental leave or who stay at home (or, I guess, are playing hooky from work).

See the problem I have with this is the state where I live: IL. Solid blue, correct? Nope. We have a Republican Governor who is FUCKING over anyone is who isn’t rich, in particular poor children, because “IL is Blue, it’s always democratic, I’m not going to bother to vote this time.”

It’s so annoying. Apparently women cannot make political decisions without being carried away with sentimental hogwash. If we vote for Hillary, it’s because we’re women and she’s a woman, and that we don’t know what’s good for us. If we vote for Bernie, then it is because, in the words of Gloria Steinem, we’re trying

The FB nets were full of that and then “they should vote for Bernie, he’s a liberal NYC Jew like them.”

The dude tried to trap her in a parking garage. He was not in any way confused about whether she was interested in him. He KNEW she was not, but intentionally tried to use his position to force her to have sex with her. She could have screamed no from the rooftops, printed fliers, done an interpretive dance where 57

WOW. Just wanted to give you an internet high five for really taking the time to explain the obvious here. You are doing God’s work, truly. MRA trolls gotta troll tho, right?

I have a friend who’s really gorgeous, like, shockingly beautiful. She came to me crying once because, yet again, some professional colleague attempted to turn their working relationship into a sexual one. It wasn’t as aggressive as this piece of work here, but it happened again, as it had happened so many times

Well, yes you can, because without him as a source she was not able to do her job. But no one is saying that the mere fact that he refused to cooperate as a source was wrong, even if it meant she lost her job. No one is even saying that originally granting her access, and subsequently denying her access, on its own

It’s incredibly common and perfectly understandable when you think about it, and all the more painful that the things victims do trying to convince themselves “not rape” are then used against them to argue “not rape.”

This is EXCATLY what I did with my rapist. We had consensual sex several times prior to him raping me and then I reached out to him for months afterwards while I was wrestling with what actually happened. I even bought him a Christmas gift (which I never actually gave him). I had no idea why when I was doing it but

IKR?! The moment I read that sentence, I wanted to reach through the screen and slap the man. When will people stop going on about how the actions of certain rape victims don’t “make sense”? Crazy how people don’t respond rationally to traumatic experiences.

No one wants to be a victim. Often it takes a while to process in your mind what happened, and while you’re working it out you’re trying to find every other possible explanation than “another person took advantage of me.”

We believe that it defies logic and common sense that a woman would seek to re-connect and get back into bed with a man who she says forced her to have unwanted sex just hours earlier
