i really think it's at least partly based off the ideas of john lilly. i've never read an official verification of it, but john was a scientist who did a lot of really far out dolphin research and invented the sensory deprivation chamber. he also believed that there was a benevolent group of entities called the Earth

i'm interested in that side order of ham.

*woosh!*

i disagree. i'm not comparing anyone to hitler. it's just the most immediate and obvious example of a symbol that's now out of play.

i didn't know that gamergate know about the frankfurt school! you think they'd be down to rap about adorno?

if it was ever a useful or witty term, it isn't any more. as soon as it became a coded phrase for "i sent them rape threats," shit was over. it's like how you can't use the swastika post-1930s. let it go, man.

the problem is that "SJW" is often pretty gendered. the "warrior" part is aimed at strong women who the user finds threatening. an "SJW" is also a "bitch" for example.

there's a reason for that. it's called coded language. by now everyone knows what that means. claiming differently is like dropping n-bombs and complaining when you get shade.

talk about that on a different day, please.

this is the only prince article still in the "most read" column. i felt like he would be there for days. introspection is seriously happening here.

and vanity

well, fair enough. i suppose i'm just thinking of it more along the lines of a dr. seuss book, with a wild premise with a little lesson at the core. but less entertaining.

do you get upset about fairy tales? i don't think anyone's mistaking this for realist literature.

uhh . . . this story is fictional.

thank you, noted!

yup. i heard about it from avclub before it premiered and immediately realized that i needed to at least check it out. after that i didn't need any more prodding to repeatedly watch every episode and annoy my friends with CEG (CXG? what acronym do we use?) evangelism, very often fruitful.

neither rock stars nor rich old guys are having problems with marginalization. and my experience at shows has always been influenced by who was there. they're usually like that. it's a different thing just listening to music at home, but you're going to a show to go to a show! community is important! the list of acts

the best thing any of these washed up motherfuckers* could do would be boycotting north carolina. and, if they're really feeling charitable, the rest of the world.

except don mclean

maybe you don't like the specific "dad" part of it, but go to one of those shows and check out the attendees. they will all be rich people that are of AARP age.
