Most cars have a single occupant the majority of the time. Dashboard instrumentation and controls are aimed at the driver. In many cases, literally so, as they’re angled towards the driver’s seat. Touchscreen systems primarily contain controls for audio, climate control, and navigation—all aimed at the driver.

My favorite offshoot of that argument is “Why can’t America have public transportation systems like Europe?”

I know, where are the curb feelers??

Radios don’t require that you see them at all, if they have tactile controls.

That’s completely untrue. I use my radio all the time without looking at it. There are these things called buttons, tactile feedback, muscle memory, etc. And why the hell would you need to look at a tape deck? Those don’t have displays of any kind, just four simple buttons.

They can’t be improved upon. No matter how well the screens are laid out, you still have to take your eye off the road and tap the screen. Until somebody proves this to be incorrect, invents some kind of tactile interface for touchscreens, or perfects voice control to the point where you don’t even need the screen

They advise against displays that include photographs or moving images unrelated to driving, and suggest that drivers shouldn’t need to tap a button or key more than six times to complete a task.

Damn right I am. :3

Well, that’s also true, when you think about it. :3 It means more jobs for my students who excel because Honda recognises that there’s a need to switch. And as my coworkers can attest, even here on the Jalop staff, I take my students’ success trajectories very seriously. With some, I continue to mentor them, even when

Our Pinkham in Kinja, hallowed be your name. Your thermosdome come, your steak be medium-rare, on Jezebel as in Kitchenette. Give us today our daily saved bread. Forgive us our steaks, as we forgive those who have Pinkham’s law’d against us. Lead us not into poop stories, but deliver us from crunchy allergies. For the

It is discrimination, however it is discrimination based on need, and backed by tangible data rather than predjudice. Isnt it also technically discrimination that I am not allowed things like welfare, Affirmative Action, etc. because of my race and financial situation? Its very similar to that, so I wouldn’t think

They need more ways to part with their $$$. Won’t someone help them?

Beat me to it. You still see one in the wild now and then. It’s usually people of a certain age that spend their kids’ inheritance...er...go in for that sort of thing.

Especially when the “airfoil” is mounted upside down because the moron who bought and installed it has no idea what a wing is actually supposed to do.

Those kids are hilarious for that picture.

Speaking of sunroofs, there are people on bimmerpost that want BMW to make the carbon fiber roofs available with a sunroof. Which makes no damn sense whatsoever. If the reasons for carbon fiber roofs are to lower weight and lower center of gravity, WTH would you add weight and complexity by adding a sunroof and

These are so are these days I can’t even find a photo but back around 1979 many aftermarket companies and even some mainline automakers like Ford offered fake convertible tops where they basically applied a convertible top along with fake ribs and all onto a coupe. I know you could get Mustangs that way. So basically

1: Truck nutz (if you have them I hope you get sterilized)

2: Anything stick on, plastic and chrome from the auto parts store... this includes letters that spell something stupid or your name and stick on plastic chrome port holes to make your honda look like a buick... wtf really world? WHY? who started this trend
