It’s not good enough. You don’t get a cookie for this. It’s literally the least one can do (besides not showing up). I don’t need to be respectful of people who haven’t earned respect. I respect people who show up to BLM protests time after time. I respect people who phone bank for campaigns, and canvass. I respect

After the march my wife and I attended a conference called ‘Rise Above’ sponsored by ‘Lawyers for Good Government’ which was designed to help people continue the movement beyond just marching for a day. One of the speakers from Black Lives Matters talked about the importance of being an ‘accomplice, not an ally’

I want to be with you on this, I want to say that we should encourage the people who came out to keep doing the same thing, but on the other hand things like these are meant to be challenging. If you go there and you’re triggered by truth in the form of people noting on their signs that 53% of white women voted for

There are no prizes in the Oppression Olympics.

But e-mails!

When I was working in the media, I had to monitor the Letters to the Editor, and every week, without fault, we would get a dozen e-mails around the lines “Why don’t know the truth about Benghazi?” well into 2014 because a dozen inquires, millions of dollars spent and plenty of books from reputatble writers wasn’t

Hang on. We need to hear all of the facts first. Then we need to hear all of the alternative facts. I think that’s how it works now.

It was probably a mistake to list Vladimir Putin as a Reference.

Land doesn’t vote. People do.

It is actually not that funny at all. Frankly, it is pretty much the worst joke the founding fathers ever told.

Before:

One almost might call it a disaster for democracy.

Notice how the last two Republican presidents lost the popular vote but were elected anyway.

Yeah, that electoral college is shit, ain’t it?

We did vote. The majority of voters didn’t want him.

Jenna: “Once Trump got elected, I was like, I’m going to be here—and comments I got from other people in my life that voted for him, like ‘I don’t understand why you’re even going, it’s not like you can change the presidency.’ And I was like, okay, thank you, because now I know for sure that I’m going.”

I think my favorite moment during the march was listening to the man behind me very matter of factly explaining to his 7- or 8-year-old son that they were marching because a lot of people discriminate against women just because they’re women and one of those people is our new president and it’s important to speak out

It’s probably because they didn’t get any good pictures. The helicopters couldn’t fly because of cloud cover. But in general we do get ignored unless our sports fans are breaking shit.

Gotta keep that philly sense of humor
