Sorry to hear that. I’m 37 weeks and currently working remotely from home. I am entitled to FMLA but can’t afford to take the time (can’t imagine getting through the holidays without a paycheck). So I negotiated working remotely, at least 30 hours a week until February. I know I should “feel” lucky that I don’t have

It never ceases to amaze me how wrapped up these fucks are in everyone else’s lives. I used to respect religion, now I don't think of any religion without tasting turds in my throat.

They didn’t say paid 12 weeks. FMLA allows for any employee in America that works at a business with more than 50 employees 12 weeks off unpaid. This is not usually feasible for a lot of people. I’m curious to know what explicitly they meant by that.

maybe if she left him outside she would get arrested for child abandonment. Been seeing that in the news off and on.

I took my 3 year old son to see minions at regal cinemas yesterday morning and they asked to check my bag. I embarrassingly opened it to about 5 bags of snacks and some drinks. They did not say anything about it but I’m guessing it’s coming. The days of byo are over. If I was with my husband there would have been

Very funny and honest. Maybe when I’m done having kids I’ll see if a shiny new vagina is in the works. After my first things went back to “normal” meaning I didn’t notice too much of a change. But definitely not as tight as before. I am not peeing my pants and am nearly 37 weeks with my second so fingers crossed.

My personal beliefs are 6 months for both parents. I wish I could say companies would not discriminate, but corporations are whiney bratty assholes that don’t do anything nice unless they are legislated to... soooo yeah.

Why ask for 12 when we’ll get 6 though? Why not ask for 52 and get 26, for both parents? Or at the very least 26 and get 12? I mean, that was my point. We need to be more aggressive.

Yes, I agree. I am currently 36 weeks pregnant and just started my leave that I negotiated because I am a salaried worker at a large corporation and am lucky enough that they need me and I am able to throw my weight around. I don’t know how I did it. I don’t want to feel lucky. I want it to be the norm. The reality is

Agreed. I was just disappointed when I went to look. As a democrat, I am tired of settling for and applauding good enough. When it comes to conservatives guarding my womb it’s no holds barred. I want Mr Sanders to be equally as reasonable. Not to mention our neighbors to the north seem to have no problems with a year

I just checked Bernie Sanders stance on this and I’m sorry but 12 weeks is not enough. This country has to do better. It has to.

Amen.

From my wedding there were missing cards from 2 couples, also one family of cousins didn’t give a card, but told my grandmom they had given one. So I chalked it up to oh well, it was lost. I would never confront someone over a gift.

Desperate people making desperate promises. Bye Felicia!

This is a good story to end the day with a smile. Bravo to that judge.

I’ve seen this too. I can’t imagine what it’s like to shoot someone, but I also can’t imagine not throwing myself down at their head and holding it until help came. Not throwing handcuffs on someone not moving. Then again, I’ve never been trained to kill people as a military or civil officer.

Oh and how does she feel about abortions and birth control? Is the government suddenly able to make those choices for women? Or is she hands off when it comes to those issues as well.

I think *most* people can agree that companies should not have to foot the bill for maternity leave & paternity leave, but it’s handled in Canada and the UK by a system similar to unemployment insurance. We are asking for mandates by the government because businesses cannot act responsibly enough on their own to make
