RE: the Sable heater core.  When I had one, my Volvo 240's HVAC blower was okay which was good, because the apparent consensus around Volvo faithful was that the blower gets mounted in a jig in the factory and goes down the assembly line, and the rest of the car is screwed to it in layers.  Apparently working on the

Friends do not film in Portrait. Which is the real Crime here

I tried my own car, and I guess I’m not sleeping tonight

Hi!

The mechanic states in the video that this cooling system is nothing like an ICE cooling system, the temperatures are much lower (they seem to think 100F would be unlikely in Boston), and the pressures are much lower, below 2psi.

I think Tesla actually did that. Or it was something like some home depot wood corner trim and a ratchet strap.

You’re acting like these are guys that, with no experience, started up a shop to fix Tesla’s and do it without knowing anything about the cars. The two guys not named Rich Rebuilds were literal Tesla technicians with 24 years of experience working on Tesla’s between them. Stop acting like they have no clue what they

brass in plastic, less than 2psig differential, less than 150F temperatures.

People have been doing this to radiator housings for like...forever. Go sit down, you have clearly never wrenched on a vehicle.

Let’s be real - this is a car, it would be a $10 part.

It cracked because it got slammed into by road debris. That is a whole lot beefier bit of plastic than what you will find in a typical radiator end tank. It’s going to be just fine for a LOOONG time. Probably longer than if it had never been repaired.

You are out of your tree if you don’t think the fix was better than the original design.

16k for a very large critical item on a car isnt that outrageous

Okay Grandpa Elon, let’s get you to bed.

I’m sorry, the brass will what now?

All those owners and only 80,000 miles are a pair of Crimson flags I can’t ignore.

I checked this out when it first hit the showrooms, but the hatch opening was tiny, with a very narrow cargo hold. It seemed no larger than a regular Accord trunk. The Acura ZDX version seemed even tighter if I recall correctly. No Dice on a pointless hatchback that coulda been so much better. If only I could find a

I have one. I’m selling it. It’s quiet, fast, comfortable, and reliable as hell, but I wish it was a real wagon, and I really wish the overhangs were shorter.

yup.  all those compromises could have been offset by either a 6MT or at least the extra power from a V6.  But this package just didn’t hit the mark and sadly becomes another point of evidence for the “americans won’t buy wagons” argument.  We won’t buy terrible wagons, but we’ll buy wagons!

It was also very inefficient, even for its time, and 91 octane was recommended. Most people only score ~24mpg in them. The Outback scored better fuel economy, had awd, more space(no rear strut tower intrusion), and was only a little slower. The TSX was obviously honda reliable, but it was just didn’t really offer
