Basically there are 2 experiences with the 2.8, horrible, or fantastic. Fuel injection made a huge difference. Carburetors on them were f’ing terrible in every way. They also either blew head gaskets every 40k, or they didn’t. Or they ate cams and threw rods. Or not.
