I’ve gone all over the backwoods and deserts of the PNW in 2WD vehicles, sometimes even in FWD vehicles. If you need 4WD, you’re doing it wrong.

My Mazda2's fuel gauge reads empty when there’s still about 3 gallons left in its 11.4 gallon tank. That’s way more than the usual reserve. I suspect this is Mazda’s way of making sure the pump is always submerged.
