She whispered “We stole this bit from ‘Lost In Translation’.”

The woman who wrote the episode, Karen Nielsen, said in an interview that it was a private moment between Mulder and Scully and that we’ll never know.

I’ll go to my grave assuming it had to do with her red vibrator from the previous episode.

I liked this more than the reviewer. Certainly not a great episode, but much better than I expected. I thought Carter would send us down a horse-shit rabbit hole of conspiracy/mythology bullshit but instead he just had Mulder kill everyone on that side of the fence. I am left with some questions though....

Yes!!!! 30 rock for the win! And spot on!

To be fair, from my perspective, the “mythos” episodes have always been the weaker ones compared to the random, sometimes delightful (sometimes terrible) monster-of-the-week ones. And, though we may have held out hope that Carter would have become a better writer in the intervening years, or at least consulted with

You! I like you.

I know. It’s a “I love the show but I’m not really sure it loves me back sometimes” kinda show.

Screw you, that Haldeman sketch was genius!

Never go with Chris Carter to a second location.

Field Trip is SO good.

That — apart from the general quality of the non-premiere/finale episodes — was the biggest (and nicest) surprise for me about this season!

I feel conflicted, too. Hell, at this point, my entire relationship with this show is conflicted. I love it, at its core (and at its best), but it also drives me fucking crazy.

Unfortunately, he still appears to have all the control. And there are still some much better writers (Morgan & Wong, and Darin; plus they had some promising fresh writers this season as well) that are loyal to him, for whatever reasons.

Season 7's Requiem really would have been a great finale. The various finales they’ve had since then really have just been increasingly lame and unsatisfying (and the last two just plain awful and insulting).

I literally remember very little about this episode AND I JUST WATCHED IT. I just kept finding myself mentally wandering away. I am so annoyed that I am watching this crap. One episode left AND I DON’T CARE. The only good thing is that I thought I had read the book, but when none of this was seeming familiar, I went

trust me, it’s an art learned when you’re 11 or younger in britain. Tie it, then yank it down 5 seconds later to your favoured looseness and it’ll stay like that all day. So you’ve technically made an effort, but project ‘can’t be bothered’.

I’m glad someone else pointed it out! if he tightens it, it’ll stop way above his belly button or something. absolutely unacceptable

were you promised?

The idea of teleportation terrifies me. Because it raises that old Ship of Theseus paradox. If you are disassembled and reassembled in another space, are you the same person, or merely a replica? What if you are in fact being destroyed and recreated each time? The original “you” would be gone, and the new “you” would
