I’m doing this as well and I’m just about to go to Virmire now. I have to agree with others when I say that the combat gameplay took a lightyear sized leap in the second game (and continued in the 3rd) but I’m pushing through with it because it’s still the game that started it all.

Borderlands the Pre-Sequel and...wow, this game is surprisingly dark. The lighthearted stuff is there in droves but...the main storyline is straight up dark, especially since I’m playing as Wilhelm, and I totally did not make the connection originally with the second game.
