Well at least their mockup is at a more appropriate scale...

Agreed. Massive subsidies to our military industrial complex instead of education and infrastructure will in time cause internal collapse. There are no doubt lots of technology and jobs that result from DOD spending, but we can do the same without a weapons based manufacturing economy. In the end, the greatness of a

It's hard nowadays, but I always buy MANUAL TRANSMISSION cars and not one has ever been stolen - only broken into...

The Fit is Go! or not... Actually there's a recall for the Fit to re-flash software to correct a stability control issues.

Well yes. I would assume that head unit would still have it's own baked in functionality and interface when not connecting to a smartphone. It's not unlike how my tv is fully functional, but add chromecast and now my phone/laptop can interface with it.

Awesome! This is the way it should be - a car's dumb terminal touchscreen interfacing with your current voice controlled phone showing only a simplified display.

As a multimedia developer and gamer, I have a dedicated multi-monitor desktop with upgradable/replaceable components to squeeze out the most flexibility and long term value, but for daily consumption, you can't get past the fact that consumer electronics are disposable and hence a chromebook or mid-range android

I work for Daimler, but drive a Fit... (I need to ask for a raise.) In all honesty, I love my 2012 Fit Sport with excellent visibility, the magic seats, 117 high revving hamsters, and a slick manual transmission. There's something "honest" about a cheap econo-box engineered with extreme balance of frugality, fun

The Mercedes "Fit" is go!!

Agreed... As a multimedia designer and a pack-rat boy scout, I've always carried el cheapo or free nicknacks in modular ziplock sandwich bags within a pricier Timbuktu messenger bag.

"Of course, this list should not stop you from following your dream." If you're a trust fund baby or a successful "gold digger"...

Freightliner doesn't really make COE trucks for the N.American market anymore. There is one being shipped to Australia, but really COE designs are mostly for the Euro market, which has much stricter size restrictions. I work for Daimler trucks in Portland and they've been touting this new Prime truck all over our

It was for the Rose Festival, but he lives in NE Portland in Swan Island at the Western Star / Freightliner facilities. I work for Daimler Trucks North America and Optimus Prime (or at least this truck) is technically German owned.

Now that's how you upgrade your living situation...

Oh I understand that they're essentially coachbuilders, but I'm just saying the name "airstream" has an iconic image of those silver aerodynamic retro campers. It just feels weird to see the name on a boxy vehicle.

The Sprinter is made under the Mercedes, Dodge, and Freightliner name plates. It's the same basic van, but if you want a luxo camper van, then starting out with the mercedes, with all it's standard luxury bits and advanced safety equipment, might be more cost effective.

Were they trying to repaint it with a huge red crayon but then their arm got tired and said - eh, good enough...

"Airstream" brings to mind very bulbous rounded riveted aluminum shapes, whereas the Sprinter is a tall box on wheels - I work for Daimler, so I know it's a very well engineered and successful box on wheels, but still a very strange partnership to me.

Is this also about the whole man-made global warming thing?
