It's low cost and already paid for - that's the problem. Keeping the Viking flying doesn't equal very many jobs... The S3 wasn't very glamorous, but it was one of my favorite plastic models hanging from the ceiling of my childhood bedroom - right beside an F-14...

So this works just like the F-35 stealth fighter, where the pilot can "look" through his own plane via external cameras and a helmet video projector. I'm sure this Land Rover will be just as reliable and almost as expensive....

Russian dash cam videos on youtube have made cheap car DVRs a $20 reality on Amazon. I have one, but I also have a free smartphone app (Daily roads voyager) that does the same cyclical video recording with your higher quality phone camera. Obviously your phone should be mounted to your windshield and not hand held...

I kinda news about that very app a few years ago. There was some controversy about privacy and some litigious stuff about driving while filming, so I dunno what happened with it...

Agreed. I'm perpetually running late and I tend to speed in traffic as well. It doesn't always get you there faster, but it's almost never slower. The only times slower traffic gets there before me is when they've hogged the more empty passing lane (the whole time) and I got stuck in the slower right lane while trying

Do you keep one constantly filled in a bathtub? - cause this only works if you have time to fill before the water gets cut off.

It runs counter to the principles of democracy when special interest and lobbyist's money determine laws meant for the greater good.

Even if Texas makes the most business sense I'm hoping Musk will go elsewhere on principal. Lobbyist's money shouldn't determine our laws. The Lone Star state wants it both ways and they must be punished for their hypocrisies.

Well if the financial industry has learned anything from the big debacle, it's that they'll get bailed out by the very same class of people they screwed and hardly anyone will get prosecuted. Nice to know their well paid lobbyists are still fighting any regulations and higher lending standards...

Agreed. Hard drives are cheap and as a multimedia developer, it's fairly expensive to back up a terabyte or more online. That and I don't trust backing up sensitive financial info in cloud storage...

And this is why boring soul-less appliance mobiles, like Hondas and Toyotas are financially awesome. They're very reliable used cars and that makes em depreciate far less as new cars. (If emotions like fun, unique, or status symbols are taken out of the equation...)

Also as a first time home buyer who might not know of any good inspectors, don't listen to your real estate agent if she recommends one. There is a conflict of interest that I failed to recognize when my inspector told me not to worry about several potential issues. I'm sure he got kickbacks or lots of referrals from

This is exactly what I've been looking for and I hope it works more gracefully than me manually using SyncToy with TrueCrypt for the past couple of years.

I love the "value" Ikea offers, but their quality has certainly gone down hill imo. There seems to be more stuff make in China and less from Eastern Europe. They still generally have a "higher end" line of products that seems more robust and long lasting, but those prices are almost in line with Dania or other quality

Kinda cool that the beer can you're drinking at 30,000 ft could've been made with a previous airplane...

Weapons with 80% capability at half the cost is definitely the way to go if you're on a budget, but most of that advanced capability was pioneered at great cost by the rich West (mostly US). Unlike the Sherman vs Panzer days, we are no longer willing to sustain high losses and we have the money to develop ultra

Having lived several years in a high-rise apartment with only street parking in the snowy North East, I've hand washed my car with 3 buckets of warm water that I carried out to the curb side. While it is totally possible, the vast majority just aren't as obsessive about keeping a clean car.

Same here. I have to run around like a mad man, trying desperately to get it all done for as little coin as possible - and I have a small coupe. It should be based on how much water you use...
