Yup, blew it. A few years ago I was researching a car to buy, so I looked up “Skyactive”. I couldn’t find a real explanation of what it was, so I wrote it off as a gimmicky marketing name. If I had know what the real deal was, maybe Mazda would have got more than a glance from me.

And now that I’ve had time to reflect on this, maybe a public announcement was the right thing to do.

I shave the top lip first, then the bottom and chin. Move out from there and finish with the sides (I shave against the grain on the lip and chin on the second pass). I have a garage door key fob that I will not put in my pocket. The buttons stick up, and could easily be activated my leaning on them. A sliding cover would easily eliminate the problem.

Regarding the Mazda 5 and crashes... A friend bought a second 5 after the first was t-boned at 40mph. One of his small children was sitting where the impact happened, and can out relatively unscathed. He was happy enough with it’s crash performance that he had no problem buying another one to replace it.

All those dashboards have a great pre-screen (read, early 90's) look to them (simple. just knobs and vents), but that floating screen ruins it. Looks like a teenager slapped a cheap LCD on the dash to play Tony Hawk off his PS1. They just stick out like a sore thumb.
