Well the problem is that the surface pro is THE poster child for Metro apps on windows 8 PC's. If the surface pro doesn't sell well and can't make a case to developers that Metro apps are worth their time, the whole thing falls apart.

I was worried about it here at first because I'm not in a major metropolitan area and we often travel to parents and grandparents in even more rural areas where Verizon's map shows 3g service vs T-mo only showing 2g or Edge, but after testing the actual data speeds against Verizon while traveling over the Thanksgiving

You're citing a statistic that is completely irrelevant to developers.

Which is exactly why I just dumped my grandfathered Unlimited data with Verizon at $65 a month (which was actually a decent price compared to their new plans) and picked up a Nexus4, a T-Mobile sim, and am now only paying $30 a month for unlimited text/data.

There is still plenty of reason to support Nintendo if you're a PC gamer. For me, the vast majority of really great 360 and ps3 titles (CoD, Assassin's Creed, Mass Effect, Arkham Asylum, Skyrim, etc...etc...) are flat out better on PC.
