How many times do democrats have to lose with the “almost the same but a little less than” right wing candidate before people realise its a losing strategy?

No one is unaware Bernie lost. He did so largely because of the corrupt corporate machine linking corrupt democrats and corrupt corporate media, working hand in glove to keep control of the system, combined with a corrupt political system that he was never willing to work within (to his credit, results be damned).

This isn’t a coincidence. Whatever you think of the right they are damned good at branding.

The most vocal family values lot voted overwhelmingly for a serial cheat with three marriages, kids with all his wives, rumours of abortions with other mistresses, openly admitting sexual assault on tape and then later on to no negative effect on his popularity was found to have had unprotected sex with a porn star.

They represent the working class, underemployed and underrepresented who obviously don’t align with the corrupt corporate democrats.

This is literally how it happened pre roe. Poor women had kids they didn’t want or gambled on risky abortions, rich women travelled or knew someone who knew a doctor who could safely do it.

The funny thing is that abortion access was completely irrelevant until the late 70s early 80s. The conservative movement was basically at sea once racism was off the table as their explicit brand so they replaced it with abortion and just made racism the implicit brand.

The idea that Pelosi is a brilliant tactician is completely missing any supporting evidence.

I am somewhat aware of who she is from years ago, isn’t my idea of entertainment, but that’s fine, and I totally agree that she seems far towards the mild end of the scale of problematic.

Attacking people for doing the right thing for the wrong reasons disincentivises it. The attitude presented in the original reply from you indicates your unwillingness to take yes as an answer. More significantly you don’t see the correct answer to progress is always “yes and”.

I triple checked the date on your comment. Its not being investigated now, they have been indicted by a grand jury showing there is at least enough evidence gathered already to move to trial.

The wider point, and another great example of this is Churchill in Britain, is that every person has a ledger of good and bad and if you don’t know both sides you don’t know them. Teaching only the good is convenient, but it has huge negative externalities that impact today.

Basically, yeah. But the biggest problem is the “tiktok teens” are really just a left leaning group not much different to 4chan. They are up for trolling trump filling in an online form but come November they won’t be voting just like they didn’t vote in the primaries. Those who aren’t old enough to vote this time won’

The funniest part of that is that at the time he probably emigrated in a way that would make him an undocumented migrant (or illegal as a Republican would call him) if he was from any other country and its only the dry foot policy interpretation that meant it was legal. An American adopting a non relative from Cuba

I don’t disagree with identifying African American culture as a distinct thing worthy of defining, celebrating and preserving like Cajun culture (your example). But you just further made my point because Cajun is a proper noun already.

German is a proper noun. African American is a proper noun. Catholic is a proper noun. The skin tone black is an adjective.

10/10 kids in cages probably disagree with you.

Its got to be said, he didn’t call choke holds beautiful, so it could have been worse.

Stock markets are, literally, just a measure of how rich people feel at any given moment. There is no underlying mathematical or logical basis for how market cap valuations work. Its why companies with no revenue can be with a billion and how you get situations like Tesla which is somehow worth more than other consider

Biden finding a way to be on the wrong side of policing is like par the course. The guy was literally pushing Reagan rightwards on the drug war and is about as responsible for mass incarceration and the militarisation of American policing as anyone.
