This is just Stop-and-Frisk with cars. I had this happen to me. There are a lot of good points made in other comments using facts, stats, numbers, and excellently sourced information, but I want to share my point of view through a personal story about the problems created by this practice.

Offer me robust community features (a forum at the very least) and the ability to redeem the games on your store that I already own on Steam (as GOG does, in a limited but still growing way) and I may consider an eventual switch (when the scales get heavier on your side).
