Funny, so you came to that conclusion at the end of an article that detailed all the little ways women try to protect themselves in these situations.

I read on the internet (so it must be true) of bars where there is a sign in the ladies’ room to the effect of “If you are feeling uncomfortable ask for Rhonda [or some other name]”. You ask the bartender for Rhonda, he says “She’s working in the kitchen,” and he shows you out the back way where they have called you…

This is just Stop-and-Frisk with cars. I had this happen to me. There are a lot of good points made in other comments using facts, stats, numbers, and excellently sourced information, but I want to share my point of view through a personal story about the problems created by this practice.

I’ll agree on all points, and add that I’m moderately disturbed that “stan” appears so often in this conversation. 

I had to look up “stan” on Urban Dictionary and now I’m mad at the internet for a whole new reason.

Offer me robust community features (a forum at the very least) and the ability to redeem the games on your store that I already own on Steam (as GOG does, in a limited but still growing way) and I may consider an eventual switch (when the scales get heavier on your side).
