It’s sort of on the player if they choose to view them as strictly collectibles, yes? Although I’m not sure you’re implying otherwise. I’m the kind of player that will put a LOT of effort into a game if I can be a sexy badass, but as you mentioned both parts are kind of important. I want to play as and be that

Have you tried the Persona fighting games? They might require experience with 3/4 prior, but they have a pretty good story going I think.

Ah, okay. I see, thanks for the information. I haven’t gotten around to playing this one yet, so I guess I’ll have to wait and see how the pace of progression for grinding feels to know if some of these DLC’s would be worth it or not.

Overuse of these maps fundamentally undercuts the tactical combat by giving far too much experience point, allowing players to unlock advanced classes far too early)

Is there a way to soften the difficulty outside of the amiibo usage you mentioned? For example, is there an easier difficulty option I can select or can I do something to grind myself to being overleveled to make everything easier?

Neat! I was just playing VOEZ yesterday wishing I had some way to prop it up other than the flimsy kickstand so I could tap with both hands. Maybe this will work

My backlog is big enough on its own, thanks :P

I see your point. I appreciate world building, but I seem to have an ‘anything goes’ approach when it comes to powers and fashion. I don’t need infallible context to get into a game, but I can see how it could break immersion and annoy some people. If something is too realistic I start to find it a bit uninteresting,

It has value beyond titillation if it’s the character I want to see myself as while I play. Looking for porn online doesn’t accomplish me playing the type of character I want to progress as in my favorite pass-time (gaming). I value it, therefore there is value.

I can no longer edit my comment, but I thought I’d also include a link to one of my favorite articles. It explained a lot about my gaming preferences in ways I hadn’t fully realized.

I disagree. Having a sexy character with a skimpy outfit is not necessarily pornography and does not necessarily serve the same function as pornography to everyone. I want to be that sexy character and kick some butt in a game, not go to a porn website too look at fanart.

Only slightly on-topic, but I love Aranea (as well as her armor) and -REALLY- wish they’d release a patch to make her playable already.

That’s really cool. I’ll agree that more games should probably do this. Personally I prefer games that are more fantastical and less realistic, all the way down to character design. I like the power fantasy of playing a badass female character, but the sex appeal / sexuality of it is also very important to me and

How does playing off the shock that someone actually wrote this on a sign for $5 mean he endorses the statement in any way? Am I missing something? If anything, his surprise that someone actually did it should demonstrate the opposite.

“If you think that exposing boys who are developing sexually to various sexual deviations from the norm that it won’t have an effect on their sexuality as an adult, you’d be completely wrong.”

“Her chest”

I don’t buy it. You’re advocating to change media just because it ‘might’ cause bad things to happen in the real world. There have been cases of real-world shooters playing lots of shooter video games beforehand and speculation it may have encouraged the events - so? Doesn’t this mean we should get rid of shooters?

I think you’re right in probably at least one case of the consumption of this media, but you’re still jumping to extremes and wide-sweeping absolutes.

That’s a little overly reductive. Some people, regardless of gender, want to see themselves as an objectified character as a sort of power fantasy. That’s what games are about to some gamers - living the fantasy you want to in your leisure time.

Some games do try to adjust to the ‘international market’ by altering/removing content, and all that seems to accomplish is making the niche, devoted fanbase of the games angry.
