@Jaredu: Correct. My life would be a lot less interesting with what I currently do now without the internet. On the other hand, if I had not had the internet, I would be doing other things, such as reading a book, watching TV, talking to friends, etc.

I do not believe that it is a human right, especially in terms of being able to communicate with other people. Egypt is not shutting down telephones, TV, mail, etc. I think it will be a while before it is actually considered a right, especially in third-world countries, or those in political turmoil, such as Egypt or…
