De-badge my ride – Road & Track

Because Risky Business.

Test drive? Driving is only part of what I do.

IMS was fixed in 987.2 (2009-12) Cayman and Boxster. I see a lot of guys who like the 987.2 base car with 265hp over the 987.1 S model (06-08)... if price shopping is imporatant. The base gained 20hp on the S leaving it down by 30hp instead of 50... but with none of the IMS or oil starvation (track only) issues.

The steering is incredibly numb and there's body roll from here to next Tuesday. Other than that it's GREAT.

I demand burnout.

Number of Jalops surprised by this announcement: Zero.

It doesn't get much worse than these jokers.

Why don't they just make a wagon? The cost of developing one using the same wheelbase as the sedan and only changing the rear half of the car would be minimal. It wouldn't weight much more so they wouldn't even have to remap their fancy software.

The name Mustang ST makes a ton of sense in the batting order. Calling it Mustang Ecoboost would be overwrought and the badging way too long. Mustang ST for 4cyl turbo, Mustang GT for 8cyl, and Mustang GT RS for 8cyl turbo. This would be clean and concise across the globe. I am guessing the faithful would have me burn

When I'm president of the world, I'm making all this bullshit marketing verbiage illegal. I'm sure Ford's EcoBoost engines are fantastic, but the name annoys the hell out of me. Why can't it just be a turbocharged engine? And why do we have 50 names for traction control when we could just have everyone call it

Everyone in the office just heard me bust out laughing and knows that I am not working right now.

DADDY?!?!

I try to love M cars more than AMG, because it makes sense to love M cars. But aside from the anomaly of the 1 Series M which is now grossly overpriced and impossible to find, M cars seem to be getting progressively more boring, whereas AMG, although not generally a handling genius, gets progressively better and more

You sound just like my dad.

I hope the sponsors stay with him. This is one hell of a rough rookie year.

Ok Travis. You and the guys on After/Drive convinced me that the new STI is a good car. A great car. Doesn't change that it could've and should've been a better car....and likely will be soon.

Anyone bitching about this making too much power for FWD should drive one before they form an opinion. I have driven one, as a matter of fact here it is sitting in my garage. I've driven GT500's, BOSS 302's and most modern muscle cars, as well as a ton of classic muscle cars. This car is very high on my list of
