I watched my friends play it a few times and definitely wasn’t inspired to play it. I just remember thinking, “Yikes, for a game that’s all about magic and swords and fantasy and some dragons, this game sure does look boring and dull. Where’s the lava?”

My main gripe with 3 is still the story. Phazon had so much potential as a mysterious sci-if plot device and then they went full-on cartoony with the story: screw any nuance or depth - ITS JUST A GIANT PLANET MADE OF PHAZON, THATS THE BAD GUY. There’s your answer to all this investigating over three games. It was a

Oh, Kotaku.

Yes

Pretending and fantasizing about being a animal as a grown adult isn’t strange to you?

The grammar errors sure have increased recently around here.

The exact reason I refused to buy 6... this game has no place in any normal adults life haha

The only “flaw” with Zelda is that a lot of the shrines began to feel like repetitive filler after a while - so even though I did them ALL it would have been great if they found a way to give them more a sense of increased challenge, progression and creativity/complexity.

I never got the appeal of Skyrim - I watched a lot of it and it just seems gray and dull.

I really enjoyed BotW, but did not enjoy Mario Odyssey very much, so take that as you will.

You sure do waste a lot of digital ink replying to off handed joke comments

I have to agree with the criticism largely: on kotaku I expect the headline to be answered in the article, even if it’s about a video or podcast. Your comment here is exactly what I came looking for - because I want to watch, but I can’t for at least 16 hours.

BotW is great, and you wouldn’t be mistaken to make that your one purchase for Switch this year if you could only choose one, but honestly, none of those other games you listed are really appealing, except Mario VS Rabbids, that seems intriguing.

The anime marriage crap does not cross-over well with my desire to strategically manage a mechanical army.

I’m marking a lot of these comments as hate speech. A lot of these comments are horrendous.

Also, who really wants more GTA5 story over Red Dead 2?

Red Dead 2 is sort of a miracle, and I’m stoked. GTA is lame, and the whole crass, gross characters never appealed to me, let alone the super shallow gameplay.

This is so blown out of proportion, taking one text line of a spoken conversation and extrapolating a hate message like this. Hell, girly could mean energetic, soft, compassionate, vulnerable - but he is generally implying it to define the opposite of ‘male-anger’. And that’s the point, he was talking about MALE

I think “having a soft, compassionate quality” is exactly how it reads. And it makes it way less sexist and offensive. Is his wording ‘politically ideal’ ? IDK, but it’s certainly not hardcore offensive or diminutive.

I really do agree.
