Low tolerance for narcissists who think being cute and “quirky” makes it okay to be self-centered and oblivious? I tried, and I do not understand the appeal. The characters are all either oblivious assholes or the pushovers the oblivious assholes treat like garbage.

You know the part where she left in the night, while he was sleeping?

You know who else was a victim of domestic violence? The guy who got his dick cut off.

She was a victim of domestic violence. This was really flippant. Don’t tell care about his ordeal.

So...a “brand ambassador” for a makeup company does an interview where she explains why women should buy makeup?

On her role as brand ambassador and why she accepted it,

you have to know that’s not the norm for millions of women right? like good for you? but that doesn’t change a word I said.

People like to pretend beauty privilege isn’t a thing, but it empirically is. Better looking people, including people who use make-up to look good, are generally treated better, get higher raises, and hired more often than those who don’t. The fashion industry, looking the make-up sub-industry is largely apart of that.

Lets stop pretending that women who wear makeup get any kind of real shit thrown on them. women who don’t wear makeup are denied jobs, promotions, and sometimes institutionalized (depressed women are sometimes not released from hospitals until they do their makeup because to not wear makeup is viewed as a symptom)

Could we maybe also drop the idea that if you don’t wear make up you don’t care about how you look or that you don’t care about yourself in general? Can’t we just make the choices we want and not worry about the different choices someone else makes? I know I know crazy. But I don’t wear makeup. I just never have.

Kristen probably should have refrained from daring to adopt a baby of another race, it may cause snarky assholes to hate her due to their own internalized bias. Which is OK of course, I’M NOT TRYING TO BE RUDE I’M SO SORRY.

People become parents in toooooons of different ways. The “adopted” modifier here is totally unnecessary and gross.

Re: snarky Kristen Davis comments- does “Dirtbag” mean the author of this article is a dirtbag? Bc no argument here.

My particular favorite is that if Davis held out for or expressed a preference for adopting a white child, she would have also been raked over the coals for not being universal enough to see past her alleged white supremacy to adopt a non white child. So, she’s evil for adopting a black child without being woke

What she said was great. This is just another example of how liberal/PC/SJW crap goes to far. I believe in all those things, but this, this goes to far. Jezebel, you are part of the problem.

Yeah the snark is unnecessary and that line in particular is flat out wrong. There’s no indication that it took that long for Davis to recognize her privilege; in fact, she specifically cites becoming a mother to a black daughter as what opened her eyes.

Don’t you think being a constant cynic like this might be counterproductive? Snarking on every kristin davis is like crying wolf, and there’s plenty of real wolves out there. Maybe her methods are a little clunky but the left doesn’t need to eat itself, especially not now.

I keep forgetting that these writers are essentially bloggers, and not actual journalists. If they want to admonish a woman for worrying about her daughter, they should at least explain why. They don’t have to be unbiased since this is, again, a blog. Just elaborate on the snark instead of being sneaky about it.

No, it is not warranted. Frankly, it’s a lot better than some of the borderline cringey stuff white celebrities say about their children who are not white.
