Happy for Griner. Sucks to be Paul Whelan though.

No offense but you have no idea what you’re talking about. One arms dealer getting out of prison has zero affect on Ukraine. Putin, the dictator of an entire nation, has been throwing every bit of resource imaginable at Ukraine and failing. Absolutely nothing about that just changed. He has no special access to special

My strategy right now is to not pay for the battlepass until I actually hit level 50 in it. If I played that much and enjoyed it enough over the course of a month, sure, take my ten bucks - and give me all the rewards at once. If I fall off of it, no money wasted.

The simplest fix they could do is:

I mean, there’s an obvious third option here between buy the battle pass and uninstall the game: why not just keep playing it without paying? I haven’t dropped a penny on the game, still having a blast

Ah yes the woman who just revealed that she’s in a physically, mentally, and emotionally abusive relationship with a husband who forced her to stream video games nearly naked nearly 24/7 and if she didn’t do it, he screamed obscenities at her and threatened to take all of HER money sure does have it on easy street.

Have you never filled out taxes?  There are obvious forms for large donations.

Depending on how rich you are, it could literally be the same thing. If you have $5,000 in the bank, then giving someone $20 is the same as giving them $70,000 if you have $17,000,000 in the bank. Expenses are relative. As you go up the scale of wealth, money increasingly just becomes an amorphous pile of green paper

Yeah, I saw the developer first and was immediately open to letting them take a chance on something. I am absolutely not a Marvel comic guy, and even less of an MCU guy. But, my cold heart was thawed by Eidos’s Guardians of the Galaxy, so I am open to the schtick when it’s handled well. At worst, I bet this is a

You mean like everyone thought of Mario and Rabbids?  And that series kicks ass.

My only guess is that people just read “marvel X-com style game” in the headline assumed it was a weak cash grab and ignored that it was being developed by the ACTUAL X-Com developers.

I am genuinely curious as to why so many people were agianst this. It’s like a fantastic idea mixed with a super fantastic team who have more than shown their pedigree with strategy/turn-based games, all wrapped in a Marvel wrapper.

Something would have to go terribly wrong for it to ruin the game, and even then on

“we aren’t technically in recession” is a depression, just because the news don’t say it doesn’t mean firing thousands everywhere isn’t it.

This is a silly take. We aren’t technically in a recession because we are still adding more jobs than we are losing and the GDP numbers are still going up. If it wasn’t for inflation these would be considered boom times.

Tech companies are firing people because they’re all built on cheap debt instead of profitable business models. Debt is no longer cheap, but those workers will probably land on their feet because everybody needs coders, cloud architects, etc. now. Granted it may involve a pay cut, but probably not much of one.

I’m no fan of Zuck or Meta, but let’s not be alarmist here. They are in no way “fucked.”

He’s the controlling shareholder — the only way he can ever take responsibility is by losing money. Him resigning wouldn’t change the fact that he retains de facto control of the company. Facebook is Zuck’s toy to screw up or not, and everyone who works there should be crystal clear that they are placing their

“I got this wrong, and I take responsibility for that.””

No, Mark, you are making 11,000 other people take responsibility for that. You are taking no responsibility.

(deadpan) Who could have possibly seen this coming?
