I am totally fine with a land boat revival. Sometimes it’s fine to sit in the slow lame and cruise in comfort. Both my uncles have revived old boats, one a 70 something delta 88 convertible, the other a 78 caddy.
Honestly, it’s not as bad as you might think just cruising down the highway. I had a coworker who bought an 8th gen Eldorado and drove it many miles home from the southern states. He managed surprisingly good mileage for a v8 boat.

Like other below have mentioned, adjustable velocity stacks have been tried with various success, but adjustable runner length has been done many times before on vehicles you may not even be aware of.
