Does she still have that perpetual smirk on her face, no matter what scene she's in?

Will you just take a cab already? Jeez!

The Onion's entire original 9/11 issue (it came out a couple weeks after 9/11) was Pulitzer-worthy. Every article hit exactly the right mixture of rage, sadness, cynicism and humor to make it both hilarious and appropriate during such a dreadful time. Seriously, timeless American satire, up there with Mark Twain.

I've never seen the Chandler connection pointed out, but it's totally plausible. I'll have to check that out—good call.
Though I'm a HUGE Chandler fan, I have to admit I can never remember a shred of plot detail after I've put the book down. It's his unmatched style that's made me read practically everything he's ever

If only.

Yes.

Yes.

A friend of mine growing up insisted the Jetsons was a revamp of "Make Room for Daddy" but he was probably full of it.

That is so funny—my mom (who grew up watching this show) repeatedly pointed out the same thing to me when I was a kid, that Alice was always complaining about "cleaning all day" but the apartment was only two small rooms.

It's funny you say that, and I totally see what you mean. But there is something about the slurring, whining, screaming that makes the whole experience so enjoyable. I personally don't hear macho posturing in the lead singer, just drugged-out angst and ecstasy. But, you know, it's all just a question of what one's
