They shouldn’t be able to extract value from a tenant’s wages. That is correct. If you live in an apartment/house/condo, you should have ownership stake in it. If it’s an apartment it can be a cooperative. It’s not that hard to understand socialization of housing.

What we even refer to the “left” in the US is meaningless. If you don’t oppose capitalism in all of its forms you are simply left of center. AOC is left of center, Bernie is left of center. Most moderates are actually right of center and the Trumpers are far right.

Please define “far left.” Far leftists want to destroy capitalism and the state. Is that who you are talking about or do you think social democrats are far left because you’ve never read any political theory?

It’s all good. When she runs for president the moderates will find ways to hate her, so she is still left in that sense.

It doesn’t really matter anymore really within the context of Covid-19. The economy is going to tank so bad after this thing is over and people will start burning everything down regardless if it’s within the Democratic party or not. I have heard from a friend that she asked AOC to her face if she was anticapitalist

The article is just pointing out the relationship between tenants and landlords. Landlords use the wages of workers to pay their mortgages. I’ll leave it up to you to decide if that is exploitation or not.

Wow, I’ve been waiting for Jezebel to bring this up. It’s been completely ignored in most media outlets. Thank you.

If the Cheesecake Factory does it then there’s no reason why every household shouldn’t do it either.

This is heartbreaking. If your landlord wants rent, they can come over to your house and grab the check from the hands you used to cover your mouth when you cough.

Is it Bernie’s backers who contributed to her failure or the entire DNC establishment that wanted to please their large donor base? Warren got far more positive coverage in the media than Bernie by far, but it is true that the media pretty much erased right before the Iowa primary.

Yea of course. He does come from a gun friendly state and represented his constituents accordingly. Isn’t that what representatives are supposed to do? Also, making juvenile statements about Sanders being “god emperor” really contradicts the narrative that the anti-sanders camp is somehow more “civilized” than the

Opposing background checks on guns is hardly the same as being anti-choice. Gun Control has a racist history that denies folks of color the right to bear arms. The Civil Rights movement in the south would not have been possible without the use of arms for self-defense. Even MLK had a stockpile of arms to defend

She got shit from online trolls. If you can’t take shit from online trolls you have no reason to be POTUS. Twitter is a cesspool and everyone knows it.

“White male entitlement.” Where do you come up with this? What about “white female entitlement?” What about “lean in” feminism that doesn’t care about working class women of color, but certainly cares about the number of women in boardrooms? If you don’t want to be attacked online then have better politics. Better

He has actively asked for the primary to be postponed, but the DNC decides to put it on anyway. It is they who are putting people at risk.

There is “abuse” from every candidate’s supporters. The media chooses to focus on Bernie because he is a threat to the pearl clutching liberals. Biden will lose if he doesn’t appeal to Sanders’ base. That is just a fact, especially in the context of coronavirus. There will be an entire class of unemployed people who

I wish this article was written 2 months ago...

Warren had the lowest numbers of POC support her between Biden and Sanders. I don’t care how good her messaging was, her base was largely white educated folks. I’m looking at actual real numbers here, I’m not just making that up. I’m not saying that Bernie’s message is perfect, but if we are talking about POC, Bernie

Bernie’s candidacy will rely on Grassroots movements to get his policies in place. That means putting constant pressure on elected representatives to pass legislation that is in our interest. Of course Bernie will have to fight tooth and nail to get his “not very radical” proposals passed, but that is he relying on us
