Petrol engines are a XXth century technology rendered obsolete by electrification.

And suddenly, the Energica Ribelle RS seems dirt cheap : same acceleration for half the price!
Nice to see an efficiency-driven design in this dreadful sea of SUV, hell yes.
If the heat pump is well done, the gap between winter and summer efficiency should be fairly small (5 to 10% - at least that’s what I see in a Model3).
Their engines date from the 50's or 60's, generally (think of a VW boxer on steroids). That may explain it (or not).
Don’t forget it’s a french car, and it’s hard for us Frenchies to understand what goes on more than 750km from home. Infrastructure is quite OK by us btw.
Yes, and your last example illustrates well a big practical plus of ICEs : with the Ghibli, you’re friends with your mechanic.
Petrol sedan? Not quite sure. EV is soooo much better to drive (for those who didn’t try yet : try it).
Came here to say that : 30 years later, general aviation still burns leaded fuel (100LL).
Same concept as Waze but better made : Magic Earth.Navigation with traffic, alerts and so on. The OpenStreetMap-based maps are more accurate, mostly.
I somehow wish we’d got as many climate denialists in Europe as you got in the states, so we could have the same prices... Here even an old Zoe (Leaf cousin) without DC charging starts at 5k€.
No DC charge?
What is a bit perplexing is that some air-cooled batteries still hold OK... Just as some Puretech engines still run, I guess.
Mostly, it depends if the heater is a heat pump (quite efficient) or a simple toaster (not so much).
Seems coherent with the gibberish in the ad (doesn’t look like there are many options), and may point to a bigger problem that may or may not be permanently resolved.
Beware to the reliability problems for the Taycan/etronGT gen1 :
More range, more comfort, better dynamics on uneven or degraded road... Even F1 resisted many years to that donk thing with 13" wheels.
> EVs burn through tires 20 percent faster than a internal combustion engine.
I heard horror stories about the pre-facelift Taycan reliability... Any echoes of that subject for the facelift models?
Actually, the original device is much shorter and grapples both rear wheels ; that shouldn’t allow the chased car to go completely sideways, in most cases.
