Great game, best since Brotherhood. It’s a shame that Unity’s (deserved) bad press made a lot of people overlook this one.

Huh. Well, the likelihood of me picking up the game just went from 0% to at least 90% (with 10% “I still have a huge backlog to get through” wiggle room). It’d be even nicer if the game automatically leveled you as you progressed with the cheat enabled, but it’s still appreciated.

That’s really cool. I hope they keep those around somewhere in the office.

Got the biggest damn grin on my face when I scrolled down and saw Undertale added to the list. Such a wonderful game.

I’d kill for a Ghibli Legend of Zelda movie starring Zelda. Like, actually kill someone.

[Obligatory “but what about The Wolf Among Us season 2?” comment.]

I really need to play this at some point. I have the season and I played episode one, but for some reason I just lost all motivation to return to it.

Very cool. I think it was definitely the right call to bring back the series with the more “straightforward” approach initially and slowly build up to reintroducing the crazier stuff.

That’s my birthday, so I will be asking for this.

For whatever reason, Bubsy wound up being the game that immediately comes to mine whenever I think of the brief time I had with the Sega Channel as a kid. That thing was magical.

Kid-me tried so hard to convince himself he enjoyed this game.

It was anime all along.

noa

Whoa! Genuinely surprised by this. Something similar to LittleBigPlanet’s lbp.me was my #1 hope for Mario Maker but being Nintendo I figured it was a looong ways off.

This is the kind of stuff I was hoping for after that initial Greatness Awaits spot.

I understand that they’ve been trying to streamline controls, but I wish they hadn’t combined run (or high-profile or whatever) and climb/freerunning into the same button. The “hold on, I’m going to run up this random piece of geometry you’re running past” thing didn’t seem to happen nearly as much in the first few

I went with Evie at first since she was meant to be the stealthier one (in retrospect, outside of a couple locked top-level skills they play practically the same) and stuck with her since she was the more interesting character of the two.

AC Syndicate was a pleasant surprise. I really enjoyed Black Flag (as a “recognizably AC but kind of different” thing) but this is shaping up to be my favorite since Brotherhood.

Now playing

Harmonix’s Beat Sports is fun so far. At first glance it’s easy to mistake it as an App Store Ripoff of Wii Sports, but it’s actually a Bit.Trip or Rhythm Heaven kind of game with some catchy-ass music.

Undertale wound up being exactly what I needed before NaNoWriMo. I’ve had a pretty awful month in what has been a pretty awful year, and the idea of trying to force myself to do anything remotely creative felt just about impossible. Along comes Undertale, and after losing the entirety of a Saturday enraptured by it, I
