A player's being "haunched" as a "clear indicator" is totally unfounded. The rules say nothing about which player actions constitute "clear indicators" of "going to the ground." The NFL has never used that language in its rules or in its adjudications ofthree-step catches.

How many steps does a receiver have to take with possession of the ball before having the ball jarred loose by landing on the ground before it no longer nullifies a catch? Three is apparently not enough. Four? Eight? Twenty?
