To be fair, I’ve been unable to read Deadspin without ad blockers on long before the new owners took over.

I stopped reading after the first paragraph. Not because I disagree, but because I agree 100% and it still pisses me off. Not gonna let Greg ruin my mood. “Jozy held up play well.” is a phrase that triggers me like no other.

Nah, they had ample time to assess what type of player and person he is. Cutting him likely was the smart move. These things happen all the time, you take a flyer on a high risk/reward player. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Every team does this from time to time.

Hence the word relatively. People do OD on coke no doubt. Die from alcohol poisoning too. But compared to opioids there’s simply no comparison, and that’s not even including fentanyl, which is a nuclear fucking bomb. Fentanyl is fast becoming a catostrophic crisis. Using the same “All drugs are bad” playbook of the

They’re not allowed to prescribe Oxy. Nor fentanyl obviously.

They might serve cocaine though. One things good about it, you can go days without eating while on a bender.

Talking about abusing drugs intelligently is relevant. Saying all drugs are the same and equally bad is in fact counter-productive.

I wouldn’t say worse, but we’d be splitting hairs. I will say what makes it worse is that it is considered a “good” drug versus a hard drug, which means those that abuse it often aren’t experienced users. Which means they do stupid things even by pill popping standards. Most commonly mixing it with alcohol, which is

It happens with heroin all the time now. I get why they do it, it’s cheaper so you can step on it way more than before. Works too. Problem is, you fuck up even a little, and dealers sure as hell aren’t lab technicians, and half a dozen people die. The shit is simply evil.

True. Not to minimize what was out there before, but fentanyl truly is a game changer. We used to laugh at those urban legends of say a joint might be laced with PCP, which just based on the economics of it was almost impossible. But this new shit is that urban legend come to life. You’d better be SUPER confident in

Seriously, why?

Hey you ignorant dipshit fuck face, learn the difference between stimulants (cocaine) and opioids (pk’s).

They usually go after the poorest (or blackest) guy in the friend group. Can’t count the number of times I’ve heard a variation of this. Thankfully it’s mostly when they get busted or go to rehab, and not in fact die.

Nah. The ER is full of dipshit kids who thought it was a good idea to pop a xany or oxy while fucked up.

I hate to sound like I’m parroting some old Just Say No talking point, but that feeling from Oxy or any PK is very short lived. Pop them for more than a few weeks and you’re simply doing it to stay normal. The term starter drug 100% applies to opioids. You quickly step up to harder shit chasing that high.

What the hell does cocaine have to do with Skaggs? Or for that matter the massive opioid crisis in general? Not saying blow is good per se, but compared to the shit that’s killing people daily it’s relatively harmless.

I get the parent’s grief. But blaming some locker room attendant for running out to score him some drugs and not Skagg’s himself is some next level denial. His death is indeed tragic and I wish he got some help, but it was his decision to make this fatal mistake. Jamming up some underling is bullshit.

It’s interesting that even while executing a smart decision, not extending him to a huge extension, Jerry Jones is managing to do it in the dumbest way possible.

When applying it to betting, I call it value. Never trust an idiot who says “The Giants are a sure thing to win this game!” There’s no such thing. Making a bet instead should be about assessing whatever criteria you use, comparing it to the odds or handicap applied, and determining if there’s value to making the bet.

Chip Kelly is a talented X’s & O’s guy. He’s just terrible at everything else. He’s a lazy recruiter too. That didn’t hurt him at Oregon because not many other schools were after the types of players that makes his system go. Now everybody does.
