Gordon's scenes were just about the most blatant and clunkiest exposition-dropping (well his scenes were more "auteur" while Albert had more of the exposition this week), but I also feel like Lynch has put a lot of that narrative burden on himself and that subset of the show in the last episodes in order to let the

We know Leland was possessed as a child, so I think that there was something that got to both of them when they were young, maybe some predestined balance of good and evil that led to Laura.

I think he, like the girl in the car, is turning into something. I imagine he will be breaking out of that jail soon enough.

I thought James Marshall did a good job in this episode. I've always thought that he was poorly served by a lot of his season 1 and 2 material and that he was more adept and the loneliness and earnestness in FWWM, and we got there here. James has a sad, sad life, and he knows it, which added quite a bit to his scene

It's a great example of why his old, clunky effects are better than a lot of today's generic CGI.

There was a lot of talk early this season (from people who have presumably long stopped watching) about how Lynch was making fun of the old Twin Peaks PD characters, wanted us to see how pathetic they were, and so on. Instead I think he was just slowly building up to what we saw here, which was about as unabashed and

For me fairly terrible writing is most of season 2's Cooper writing. I feel like the writing this season is very tuned to Kyle's talents. It leaves a lot for him to make his own.

To me she just didn't really fit the character by the time season 2 rolled around.

Ben might feel he did have a mother, she was just in a coma.

LFB's overemoting bothers me more than the song - I think the song is very catchy and a great setup for Bob terrorizing Maddy - but even her overemoting sort of works.

TVLine says that they asked LFB back as Donna and she was supposed to be the one in the booth. She turned them down. I don't know if it's true, but I'm not sorry to not see her again. Unless it's Moira Kelly I'm not that interested. I found LFB's Donna insufferable after a few episodes.

I'm sure he's saving it as a cool story for the grandkids.

I can't think of a lot of recent TV shows that don't have interminable scenes with no new information. Game of Thrones I remember having a season or two of nothing but characters walking around saying and doing nothing. It isn't why I quit (I quit because the show became so terrible and cheesy while tooting itself as

If we get more episodes maybe we'll learn Mike and Bobby were born to be friends and slowly become mortal enemies too…

There's a scene early on with Harry where they're talking about some animal and Dale repeats it and looks awkward and a bit out of it, and Harry is confused. It reminds me a lot of Dougie.

I think the soap element of the first two seasons makes it hard to not see them in OTP terms. And Lynch has carried that along with Norma/Ed and Bobby/Shelly, albeit in a depressing way. The other missing OTP is Audrey/Cooper, which was always more built up among fans anyway. I do wonder if they are also heading back

Exactly. And that's why the little Roadhouse moments many see as a waste of time (the unknown people talking in booths) don't bother me much, as they are there to help show the decay.

I keep wondering if it's to lull us into slumber so we'll be shocked when they go on a killing spree, or if they too will be tamed by Dougie.

I thought Kelly was much better in the role, much closer to what Donna was intended to be.
