Some showrunners. I think Sorkin did that with West Wing before he quit.

I was more confused over the part about Ruth Davenport not linking up to the Cooper stuff. Beyond the ties we already had ("bad" Cooper shooting the wife), it was also said in this episode that Bob can leave Cooper ("you're still with me"). I took that as a big sign that he must have killed Ruth Davenport while

I definitely think we'll get some closure, but not the way we may expect.

I haven't seen Naomi Watts in much (I haven't seen MD yet) but I do wonder if that's why she was cast in this role. I groaned when she told Dougie to call the mob when it was obvious he can't do that…that he can't do anything. But Watts somehow makes it work. Many could not.

It would be nice if Laura somehow returned to save her.

Thanks. I never catch things like that.

This is a big thing for me as well. I often have to skip these types of scenes. It didn't really bother me here because Dougie isn't being embarrassed - most of the people around him who don't give him a chance either end up looking bad or are just doing their jobs and are mostly polite to him even if they don't

It's so chilling to think about that way. The show often sort of downplayed some of that element, with Norma in particular. I'm glad if the new show is going to make more of an issue of the subject.

He's similar to Leo, but the way he was so blatant in grabbing her and crudely telling her what he would do to her went beyond how Mike and Bobby were usually written.

I kept thinking that the boy at the other house who nearly went boom might be some Dougie offspring as he looks a bit like Cooper and has his curious nature. But between him, Sonny Jim (who definitely does have the Lodge vibe) and Richard possibly being a son as well, it's less like Twin Peaks and more like Maury

I could see that, although there was also a FWWM deleted scene somewhat similar to this.

Yes. It's just when…all the women have that role that it stands out more for me. It felt that way for me in the early episodes.

Yes and he did. His last scene was Nadine getting her memory back which meant his relationship with Norma was now over.

Me too. At first I thought it was Ed Begley Jr but then I realized that was about 10-15 years too late.

I never did but I never thought about it a lot until I saw other people saying he was, and how they weren't thrilled with the ogling scene for that reason (well and the sexism).

I am really enjoying his work in the role but I think that's because I don't see him as a replacement even though I know logically he is. Harry really liked the people at the sheriff's office, while Frank…mostly tolerates them to get work done.

The other one.

No. When I saw promos of Darya I thought it was Seyfried.

When I was watching the band play I kept thinking the guy on guitar was cute…then I looked them up and realized he was David Lynch's son. I guess I shouldn't be surprised as Lynch is a handsome guy himself. Just surreal I suppose.

It's always been so understated too. No scenes of someone saying, "She never had children so you are her daughter!" I like that.
