Well you didn't bother to find out

I'd really people not use Oriental, but I don't take offense. But there is the weight of history in Oriental, but I don't think it's pejorative the way people use it - I mean if people were being anti-Asian they'd use chink/gook/slope - words that you spit out. Oriental is just old fashioned.

Michael: Um, let me ask you, is there a term besides Mexican that you prefer? Something less offensive?
Oscar: Mexican isn't offensive.

Well no one in Asia finds it offensive because they don't have to deal with the weight of history of being treated with racism - also because no one here speaks English as a first language.

There was this amazing article about Chinese-mexican food from towns with large amounts of Chinese immigrants like Mexicali along the California/Mexican border. But then Eddie Huang went for Vice and said the food tasted terrible, and thus, my dream was shattered.

Interestingly all of the kids at my local Taco Bell are Russian. I discovered this about 2 years ago, going in, and I thought "huh, that's weird, I haven't seen so many such freshly scrubbed white blond(e) teens working at Taco Bell in decades. And they were all Russian - like very recent immigrants with strong

I will get called Chino until the end of time.

I don't live in the US so I was unaware of just how deep the Harambe memeing was - then I was on vacation in Sydney last August and this group of Australian bros had taken over the train after a sporting event got about 30 people chanting "DICKS OUT FOR HARAMBE"

I only said that piece of fish was good enough for Jehovah!
