The rumor passed around was that New Order was a continuation of the Joy Division Nazi theme (I didn't know it was intentional - no Wikipedia in the late 80s/early 90s) - and I had heard that Joy Division was the name for like an official army prostitution wing.

When Run The Jewels 4 comes out, Run the Jewels.

I loved SP - but honestly, I thought they lost it when Billy turned it into Zwan. (I did see Zwan live though). I won't defend Machina, but every once in a while I'll listen to it.

My goal in life, no lie, is to own a Toto Washlet. Like a high end one.

Pre-internet (and possibly post I haven't investigated) - the rumor was that Joy Division/New Order was at least slightly Nazi affiliated, since the imagery and the names were similar to some Nazi phraseology. People who believed that were idiots, but it was out there.

"his placing of Black Celebration over both Music For The Masses and Violator just one of the many ways in which he is always wrong."

It was my favorite revolutionary era flag. I had toyed with the idea of buying one for display in my living room until it was adopted by a bunch of idiots.

Awww, come on guys, it's so simple. Maybe you need a refresher course. It's all ball bearings nowadays.

Is it Steve Bannon?

I may or may not go around ordering a steak sandwich and a steak sandwich and charging it to the Underhills.

Heck, even the Chinese for different dairy products differs by geography. Here in the fancy south (Shanghai), butter varies between 黄油 and 牛油 (I suspect, picked up from HK) - and sometimes cheese goes by it's English loan words zhishi (芝士). I've also seen cheese written as 乳酪,干酪and 起司 but I think that last one was a

Were you studying there? I can't think of any reason I'd like to go to the west side of Beijing when I didn't have to.

My dad, whose food tastes - especially in the 70s and early 80s was Hong Kong crossed with Minnesota - loved liverwurst. We used to buy Farmer John's tubes and instead of cutting them and eating them as slices, just spread them on crackers.

I love tripe when cooked the Hong Kong street food way. It's boiled to death in either curry sauce or soy for hours.

Fattier. People in Hong Kong love geese (see also one of the early No Reservations episodes where Bourdain goes to HK) - but I prefer duck and chicken myself.

Any Chinese supermarket will have cooked goose. I've seen uncooked goose at fancier supermarkets like Texas' Central Market or Bristol Farms in SF/LA.

What about the idea that ketchup originates in Asia? You'll see this around - but ketchup sounds exactly like the Cantonese for tomato sauce “茄汁” It makes sense to me - why wouldn't it be called "tomato sauce" - instead of sounding exactly like the Cantonese?

Yeah in Cantonese it just translates into "assorted stuff" - the apocryphal story has drunk gold miners busting into a restaurant after hours and the cook just throwing a bunch of stuff into a wok.

Either that or an abundance of funds. The amount of chubby little Chinese kids running around with McDonald's or KFC bags (or local fast food places) has risen exponentially in the last 20 years.

Unagi bowls are my lunch plan at least twice a month.
