That launch was amazing. both those boosters landing at the same time. the whole thing. i love this part of technology and being able to watch that while on the clock at work. wish the video for the center section landing didnt cut out. hope they get it up soon. im gonna have to put going to see a launch on my to do

Yeah but let’s talk about the panel gaps

Even the Italians, who cannot figure out how to operate an airport if their lives depended on it, can manage to have some of the best and most reliable trains in the world.

BLM, The National Park Service, The Forest Service, and NASA are pretty much the only government entities that I feel okay about. And together they probably get 5% of the national budget or something stupid like that.

The way train brakes typically work is... you have a pressurized line from car to car, and a pressure reservoir in each car.

Okay, let’s compare it to California’s rail system, shit let’s compare it to fucking NYC’s. This apologetic nonsense for our government wasting our tax money on shitty wars with no end in sight, a border wall, tax cuts for the rich, tax cuts for corporations, fixing the country’s infrastructures that we go to war

But I never said it’s necessary to connect all of the country. It’s even a joke just in metro areas of the US. I lived in DC and their Metro system was riddled with safety and reliability issues which sprung about an emergency response called Safetracks to handle the issues after political inquiry. Meanwhile, a

What needs to happen is our infrastructure needs to be replaced with a working system. Perhaps instead of funding the next Gulf War, we spend that money on our crumbling infrastructure. Instead of funding the stupid wall, we spend money on our rail lines.

Most Americans have no idea that we have a passenger rail system outside of the Northeast Corridor, let alone that most Amtrak trains travel on privately-owned freight RR tracks. The garbage truck collision in WV and the accident in SC were most likely the fault of the truck driver and CSX, respectively.

Some asshole gave it to Walmart.

The garbage truck I’d put on the truck driver (or the owner of that stretch of track - probably CSX - if the signal wasn’t working), and last week’s crash is on the CSX worker who didn’t reset the switch after they parked the freight train. This one and the PNW one though...

No bullshit. I had to go to D.C. for work today. I would have very likely been returning on this train if had taken the train. I chose to drive instead so I had a more flexible departure time (which was good, because I had to stay later).

In you rebate check or Mexico’s treasury depending who you ask...

“We are currently investigating the cause of the car separation...”

Isn’t Rotten Tomatoes banning negative audience scores because of an alt-right Facebook page that has called on people to mark the film down?

welp... guess hammond got a corvette

There is NO due process when it comes to traffic tickets.

I believe Michigan is the same way. IIRC you get a ticket you don’t even go before a judge, just some stooge in a room.

That’s pretty much how it is everywhere, traffic court ceremony or not. The judge is going to side with the LEO every time, even if the LEO is lying or the traffic signs make it impossible to comply. I got pulled in Charlottesville, VA for speeding, except that the “reduced speed ahead” sign was only like 100ft before

I thought most cites had gotten rid of speed cameras because of widespread abuse? I know ones near me did. Besides that, the fact that an outside company was getting a piece of that fine pay is really not acceptable. This though: “and also denied drivers due process” can be said of most traffic courts. The fact that
