Those are the worst. I have almost been rear-ended a couple of times because people behind me thought I was going to go through the light but I safely stopped instead. Got the honk once, too. Driving protip: never assume the driver ahead of you is going to go through a yellow (or red) light.

Driving to work just today in DC. Light ahead turned solid red, 3 cars in front of me ran it, but I stopped...and the guy behind me blared his horn and flailed his arms as if I’d done something wrong by safely slowing and stopping for a red light.

I’m pretty sure the local government knows full well that should fix it, but they also know it would cost too much to do it for them. There are enough signs and warnings where it’s almost 100% of the time driver fault. And the bridge itself is rarely hurt badly so the local government doesn’t lose much money from…

I’ve seen women do it too. Are you suggesting that no women is ever in a position of power? Are you saying that a position of power is necessary to mansplain? Neither of those statements are true. If they were, then tweets from trolls wouldn’t be adequate examples of mansplaining.

There is something wrong with it - it gives women who do it a free pass because the design of this word and the bias of those using it prevent it from being applied equally to women. Why can’t we just ban together against jerks of all genders instead of coupling it with other gripes that you and others have with men?
