Your mother would quite possibly be as confounded by the cars that I drive, as I guess, would you. I take a perverse sort of satisfaction from driving something with four pedals, right hand gear change (RHD car) and the sort of cold starting procedure that involves levers and switches. What I would not do is to rent

I love Enterprise’s hiring system.  People in the office are mostly recent college grads who have been through a training program and are hoping to become franchisees once they learn how to manage a location.  Makes for much more pleasant encounters.

Seriously, NOTHING Hertz does surprises mm shocked they didn’t call the police and say she stole the car when they got I mean that’s Hertz stranded. I meant that’s their deal now, amiright?!!! They don’t give a rats ass about any customer. They’d rather give out $$$millions to this primadonna to shill for them! 😒 F

When was the last time you rented from Hertz?  You’re lucky if they tell you where the car is parked.

If you gave my 60 year old mother a Tesla, she would have no idea how to charge it or probably use the built in screen (mostly because she’d be too worried about messing something up) to search for charging locations. She’d likely search “EV charger” “Car Charger” “Tesla Charger” or something in google maps on her

Thank god there is a hyphen on it. Otherwise I wouldn’t know what it did.

This is a BS answer. I’m sure they would have no problem charging the last renter 2-3 times the cost of a replacement cord if they find it’s missing upon return. And they wouldn’t care less if the person returning the car said someone stole it from them.

We bought a new SUV a week before my daughter was born and it has keyless entry and start. On day 2 in the hospital after a sleepless night I went to my car to drive home for additional supplies when I realized I left the headlights on and drained the battery. I looked at the fob, no key. I look at the door handle, no

This! All day long...

Hertz later suggested these adapters are often targeted by thieves.”

For those who have never seen the handle inside the Model 3...

This would never have happened with a real car, worst case would be a recovery guy came out with a can of gas.

Door handles that open doors are not disruptive enough.

The first question the Hertz representative should have asked when the customer was given this as a alternate was “Have you ever operated this vehicle before? Let me show you all the differences from a standard vehicle and how to find charging stations. “

This is one of those times when the government needs to step in and mandate regular manual door locks and opening mechanisms, and not the “Oh just open this panel and push this hidden button” backup methods.

This, I’ve had a number of passengers get very confused when they pull the handle in my car once. It’s not ridiculous to describe someone as “trapped” when the method of opening the door isn’t obvious or common.

First time my wife drove my BMW E39 Wagon she got locked in. She did not know that it needed two pulls of the interior door handle for it to open.

They should consider themselves lucky that Hertz didn’t have them arrested instead.

Hertz are scumbags for sure, but this is why the EV revolution is not viable as it stands right now. This would never have happened with a real car, worst case would be a recovery guy came out with a can of gas. But really, they could have been back on the road again with a two minute stop at any number of gas
