Amen to that. Peter King, guy who claimed American Muslims are disloyal, held congressional inquiries on if we are a threat and “there’s too many mosques” in America suddenly had his congressional district borders change. Suddenly he was making an appearance in my local mosque and saying mealy-mouthed comments like “I

How do we actually prevent this from happening ever again? Make every Republican go on the record if they are for or against this.

Trump promised to be the president of “LAW AND ORDER” (except for FBi investigations, state attorney general prosecutions, campaign finance lawbreakers, sheriffs who abuse their power, etc).

That’s an impressive strawman. That’s not what liberals said or acted, and we have plenty of news coverage from the time. It’s not hard to factcheck 8 years ago people.

Some of us went on record during the Bush years about how Guantanamo was a bad idea, and people pushed back, saying only terrorists would get indefinite detention without trials. Slippery slope always results, what is practiced on non-citizens eventually works its way through law enforcement to be used on citizens too.

There’s a really popular anime and manga and now Netflix movie called “Death Note,” the premise of which is a supernatural notebook from the afterlife is dropped to earth, if you write someone’s name in it they die immediately, and if you write how they die then it comes true. High school kid finds it and decides to

It’s never fun being sick. But let me give the other side of the story. As an ER doc I’m a little annoyed at how everyone exaggerates these stories.

I’m sorry to hear that happened to you. As an ER doctor there’s a ton of jaded and cynical people who work in the field, and frankly not without some justification; dealing with the public often sucks. That doesn’t mean they should have acted so prejudiced to you, and while I wasn’t your doctor I’m still sorry.

Ah, that makes sense

Are those the only two choices?

I don’t view any degree of compromise as necessary on this. I suppose if it had an active nuclear weapon code or plan, maybe. The rest is a slippery slope.

law Enforcement already can access iCloud backups, web search history, recent phone calls and SMS, and cell tower location data. This will hardly affect any actual investigations, but they want to see everything just in case.
