“Any person with the ability to think will agree” that you’re a dick. Leave people to grieve how they want.

The beauty of living in Manchester is that we get the opposite. People (especially people from London) see Manchester as some sort of grim, grey shithole, when there’s actually a lot to like here. Some people romanticise Manchester for the music scene or whatever, but on the whole people have fairly low expectations.

Is it though? Watching the trailer, it struck me as they ask a simple question and get a “pretentious, bullshit” answer. That’s how it came off to me anyway. The joke seemed to be aimed at the Benedict Cumberbatch character rather than Derek and Hansel.

Judging this on the trailer and not the stupidity of the characters and how that might play out in the film: it’s a cheap trans joke. Also, it seems specifically aimed Andreja Pejic who until last year presented herself as an androgynous male model ‘between genders.’ The look and the ‘not being one or the other’ thing

He’s a mediocre writer* who was hailed as a great one when he was young. He’s generally very arrogant and has said things like ‘The Muslim community will have to suffer until it gets its house in order’in response to an attempted terrorist attack in 2006. In that same interview, he advocated ‘Strip-searching people

‘Do you think he knows he looks like a spoiled brat’ is totally something a nine year old would say, what on earth are you implying?

Nope, I’m just too turned off by like, everything he has ever said or written to get it.

I have a very, very hard time imagining Martin Amis as having ‘Byronic magnetism’.

I imagine he was more worried about studio execs etc. knowing rather than the general public (thought that will have been a factor too). I mean, see the above email, apparently knowing he was HIV positive made him even more unemployable than he already was. I can believe that he did ‘lead with condoms and honesty’; I

Yeah you’d fully expect her to pretend she’s having a marvellous time and she’s just such a natural mother!!! But she’s honest about it, and you just never see that. I can’t think of any other time a celebrity has even said that they hate being pregnant while they were pregnant, and certainly none who have gone into

I’ve only ever seen lesbians claim that trans women insist that lesbians are ‘obliged’ to sleep with them. Have never actually witnessed any trans activists insisting on this as a thing. Only, as those links you’ve included actually say, suggesting that maybe don’t discount trans women as sexual partners straight away.

The issues that LG have with BT are bullshit. Can’t speak for trans people (though the above speaks for itself) but lesbians can be very hostile towards bi women (obviously not all lesbians! Lots of them are lovely and supportive!), their main problem seeming to be that bi women ‘always end up with men’. It might be
