It’s a state charge, as I understand it, so no federal pardon.
President is (sadly) exempt and I believe can make others exempt.
AFAIK being a felon doesn’t prevent him from being on the ballots. But being a convicted felon means he’s not allowed to vote himself.
I don’t know of any states that don’t let felons on the ballot or don’t allow citizens to vote for a felon; however Florida does not allow felons to vote.
The presidential candidate from the “party of law and order” is a convicted felon and can’t even vote for himself in his home state.
What do you call a bunch of billionaires at the bottom of the ocean?
If the starting point is 72%, then their definition of range must be “highway range”. Further evidence to support the idea EVs should just have a reported highway range and city range, instead of a confusing jumble of the two.
Why do the EVs not have a clean 75 kwh = full, and 37.5 kwh = 50% is beyond me.
Last year we bought a ‘22 Chevy Bolt EV, and liked it so much that earlier this year we replaced it with a ‘23 Chevy Bolt EUV. To me, the biggest mistake Chevy is making is cancelling the Bolt and pushing all customers up to the Blazer EV (which starts at $49K).
Notice the flight attendant was also black.
I just don’t understand why people take their seatbelts off if they are sitting there. If you happen to be walking to the bathroom and this happens, my condolences, that’s just crappy timing. But if you are in your seat, there’s just no reason not to have the belt on. These incidents happen frequently enough that…
Collin, if you are a real journalist, or even a person with integrity, you will point out that:
How? Boeing neither services aircraft, nor does it manufacture engines. General Electric, Rolls Royce, and Pratt & Whitney manufacture jet engines for 747's.
Remember Jalopnik’s coverage of that nearly-new Airbus that burst into flames at SeaTac a few days ago?
Oh right.
Honestly, this title should have been “747's Protective Systems Worked to Save Planeload of Passengers.”
This has less to do with Boeing and more to do with its carrier/maintenance record. The 747 is an exceedingly well-proven aircraft, and conversely Indonesia has one of the worst records for air travel safety.
BOEING DOESNT MAKE THE ENGINES. JFC this is getting so stupid with the Jalop crew at this point.
I would suggest the opposite- Boeing should be immensely proud that nobody was hurt here. As others here have mentioned- in spite of everything against it, poor maintenance, age, etc- all of the engineering and systems worked as they should have in a situation like this.
Not sure if it’s fair to place any kind of blame on Boeing here... It’s probably a 30+ year old air frame operated by an airline in a country with famously bad maintenance and quality control. Just happy to see no one died.
