Hmm, I wonder if I could use this in my ‘57 Chevy.

What’s odd to me is that this engine and nacelle had to have passed fan bladeout tests for cert, so the nacelle should have prevented debris from impacting the fuselage. I mean, the nacelle *mostly* did its job, but I think this would still be considered a failure of that test.
Back in the late ‘90's I had a flight from Burbank, Ca. to Seattle, Wa. Normally this is a 2 hour flight, and this was before 9/11 so airport security wasn’t a big deal. It was a 45 minute drive to the airport and I got there an hour before departure. Should be no problem.
*Every* plane is “aerodynamically unstable” at a certain angle of attack. The new engines change that AOA limit compared to older 737 models, but it isn’t inherently a problem. MCAS was a shortcut to prevent pilots from entering that flight condition without retraining them; and yes, the MCAS design and the decisions…
Will his Secret Service retinue have to stay in the cell next to him, or will they have seats outside of it?
I don’t know why, but that leading image really reminds me of an old Quake III map - had to search for it, but it was called Runtfest. Lots of fun.
The first F.E.A.R. game. That was a masterful example of using environments and building suspense. They’d make you expect a huge ambush battle, and then just keep... not doing it, so every turn got more and more tense. Then they’d do something like send ghost sounds through your radio, or toss a dead security guard at…
I picked it up last night and installed it to check it out for a half hour or so before bed. Suddenly it was three hours later...
I want one of these for my ‘57 Bel Air. Hopefully the prices drop some by the time the car is restored enough to be ready for it.
Sounds like GE.
How well would this work in a ‘57 Chevy? I don’t need to take off like a rocket, but I’d like to be able to accelerate reasonably well and move at California freeway speeds.
When I started my job, I had a 6-mile, 10-minute commute. Then I moved south, on the other side of the mountains, and my commute took me through the Cajon Pass in Southern California. Most of the time it was fine - I was going against traffic and could travel at a good clip. But sometimes something happened in the…
So would you say it’s... semi-autonomous?
“I give you my word as a Spaniard.”
And you can finally live out your fantasy of acting out a Colin Raye song!
I spy, with my little eye, something that starts with “B”.
I wish I could find a way to make my wife understand this.
I’m a big fan of my Pacifica Hybrid, so there’s that.
I still can’t believe they killed the Volt. It's the perfect car for the transition from gas to electric.
I agree! I actually drove a Yugo for a little while back in high school. I mean, the build quality wasn’t the greatest, and the shifter had as much play in gear as it did in neutral, and it had less power than my ‘87 Hyundai Excel with a bad carburetor, but it got me where I needed to go without complaining. It even…
