It was the doorways that framed all of their conversations; just like Pete and Peggy, their most important conversations took place at a threshold. Pete crossed it both times.

Her husband said he would never be a surgeon in NYC, brainless fingers, blah blah blah. He HAD to change his specialty, and if he was that shitty of a surgeon he would probably want to go to a specialty that is drastically different so his credibility couldn't be questioned as easily.
