That’s why I never take an information as granted anymore.
Why ?
Checked what seemed to be an official trailer for this series, and it heavily featured Morricone’s “farewell to cheyenne”. So I have a question :
Haven’t finished the second season of The Exorcist, only halfway through, but so far my judgement is less harsh than on season 1. Too bad the AVClub interrupted its review after 1 (admittedly ridiculous) episode.
Vibes of “Les Revenants / They came back” (awkwardness of mass reappearances) + ”Abre Los Ojos” (I expect some tough re-separation in the last episode).
(I’m not joking)
As a person who generally dislikes sitcoms, I was fine with them not being funny. I took them at mystery value, with the flat “jokes” and canned laughter as the mere background (like technical chatter if this was a sleuth story set on a NASA mission).
That’s the difference between fictions and reality. In stories, all the good ideas come from the main protagonist, in reality everything is collective and fragmented and “happens” as a noise. Not enough personification for good tv. We need genius scientist inventing devices on their own, amateur detective getting the…
I agree with the first part of your comment (these MCU films function like individual buddy movies, chases and fights for mcguffin), but I think that’s what is about to change (the people who go see a james bond promising chases and fights, even with a space excursion, may be not interested in a movie about all the…
I really didn’t mind it. It was a very Doctor Who thing to do, and this episodes had strong vibes of it.
The picture made me expect an escape from NY sequel.
And write a book about doing it.
It makes me laugh that you didn’t stop at “the bible”.
Reading comprehension-wise, hadn’t doesn’t imply haven’t.
The first act is fair game. It’s the ending that’s discussed in the podcast. Actually, the ending of the sequel, but my friends don’t even agree with each others on whether it’s canon, so don’t ask for my opinion there.
Woah. You’ve already seen all the movies that came out more than 20 years ago ? That’s a lot. I’m impressed. I didn’t even know we were supposed to.
Ok. I really don’t want to see the first take of “Khaaaaan!”.
So, for the curious or the cautious. This podcast tiptoes around some spoilers (and there’s movies that are mentioned as “having a twist” or “having a surprising scene”). But beyond that, there’s only spoilers (more or less vague) for :
I’m making this assumption about here, due to the violent reactions to my obvious “this plot is less mainstream than this other plot” comment. I assume that, in order to deny it, one must be immersed in those stories to the point of losing sight of the mainstream. The false sense of normalcy of a local common sense.
I for one have no stake in this. I’m personally indifferent to these superheroes movies, they’re vaguely amusing and that’s it. I’m just mentioning a point about the general public. Something that has certainly been discussed and must have lead to deliberate decisions on the Marvel side. I doubt they’re as naive about…
