Rosemary’s Baby’s soundtrack is beautiful but a rad to unnerving for me.

I was coming here to post precisely about how forgettable it is. As in : i remember having seen it, because I remember the circumstances, but I do not remember one thing about the film. Except that it was rather grey and humorless. Okay that’s two things.

Yeah, it’s really one of my favorite soundtracks ever, and movie soundtracks are almost the only kind of music I listen to. In the DVD commentary, Antonia Bird regrets not to have exploited better the Colquhoun Story piece, a bit muffled by Carlyle’s narration. Heck, I think they should just have let the music alone

Adrienne Barbeau is what makes us want to be John Carpenter.

Ah The Fog. I adore this not very good movie, its lovely cast, its atmosphere, its ridiculously over the top pitch (attack of slasher leper pirate zombie ghosts!), its johncarpenterism. It so disappointingly unmemorable and so attaching and cool because carpenter is so good at making you want to care about stuff.

However, Evil Genius, on GOG or Steam, is pretty relaxing.

I don’t understand this story, nor the super opinionated and seemingly super informed reactions.

the real reason that exorcisms are terrifying: there are plenty of people who believe they work.

Yoda had told me there was another one.

And speculate wildly about where the previous civilization had gone or what had happened to it.

To be fair, I’m under the impression that most AVClub readers are already aware of that.

Further down the wormhole always reads like the first five minutes of a Simpsons episode.

Yes, there’s really two ways to interpret it. The benevolent one : Look, they’re lampshading the age difference, they say that it’s not okay, that’s something. And the less benevolent one : “I’m only attracted to 16 years old, not to 15,5 years old, what kind of monster do you think I am”. Same thing with Magnum
