It will be a reality for decades, and one that society, culture, common sense has to adapt to. We are slow to adjust to the transformations and vulnerabilities offered by new communication technologies.

I would be very highly interested by it if it didn’t take place in the already super-low-stakes everything-is-notoriously-possible everyone-is-superman marvel universe.

That’s disappointing. Not only did D’Arcy Carden’s performance deserve more than any traditional role (not only the impersonation or her co-stars, but also all the emotions subtly expressed by a supposedly emotionless not-robot), but I also really dislike it when one show or film snatches all the rewards in all the

That was one of the least sexy sex scenes I’ve ever watched.

I did something horrible. I’ve read (sometimes skimmed through) Marvel’s entire Civil War. And oh dear. That universe is so idiotic. There’s really an overload of superheroes that blurs the line between this and Moore’s Top Ten. I already evoked this when commenting on Ms Marvel’s rubber fists in the Avengers

I’ve always been ill at ease with The Mandalorian’s music. It’s catchy and pleasant, I often re-listen to the main theme, but I also feel it borrows too heavily from the Williams’ Slave Children’s Crusade (with a hint of Vitarelli’s Last Seduction theme). It’s efficiently derivative, but a bit of a guilty pleasure

1) Black Noir is not a very good ninja.

It’s not a super good plan. It’s a “The Mist” plan (Darabont style). Stephan Zweig’s unfortunate example should teach us that. Killed himself out of despair, right before the fall of international fascism. Lost hope a minute too early.

For me it was a good surprise to see this here. The AVClub authors and commentators are a bubble of oxygen in the internet soup (yeah, my metaphors weaken with my morale), not just for the entertainment but above all for the general sensitivity and ideology. Even the panicked, despaired, depressed reactions here are

Listen, I keep saying this, which is at the same time melodramatic and anti-melodramatic :

Get used to it. By law, you’re now only allowed to ejaculate 12 times in your lifetime, and each time has to produce a son.

I disagree with all of this (sometimes things happen due to horribly bad luck, often people who believe in themselves don’t beat the odds, and for many individual people things will not be OK at all). BUT.

When an abject government is elected, the ones who suffer from it the most aren’t the ones who deserve to.

Oh another thing worth being pointed out. Hm. How to phrase it respectfully.

This is getting hilarious, in a world-is-burning way.

I’d be good with Toto’s soundtrack, actually, if Toto wasn’t named Toto.

The Adventures of Batmobile : Arkham Knight. It’s much less good than Mad Max, but the moments where you’re on foot are better. Also, lots of laughs with the batman-ness of the batman-y batman. It’s all so dumb. It all wants to sound so badass. My eyes haven’t rolled as much in a videogame since SiN (yes, I’m that old)

Yeah. It doesn’t bother me on SNL because I have no reason to assume it’s “the character’s defining feature”. It’s one visual feature among all the other subtle ones they use in the disguise (costume, eyebrows, etc). It doesn’t have to be singled out.

Yes I wanted to ask the same question.

Don’t know. Probably a matter of degree of main-ish-ness (or memory?). I never felt that main-ish enough characters got eaten in JP/W. At least not the same level of main-ess as the protagonists of that cartoon. These six are all Tim and Lex. No Muldoon amongst them.
